Snip-And-Tell Bible Stories By Karyn Henley / Group Publishing Each Bible story has a pattern for you to fold and cut as you tell the story. The figures you create are key parts of the story. Many patterns are photocopiable---to let you practice cutting and telling the story ahead of time---and patterns are easy to follow. The solid lines show you where to cut, while the dotted lines show you where to fold. And discussion questions about the story allow you to get the children involved by having younger children help tell the story if they know it, or having older children help cut and fold the patterns. Makes storytelling come alive. |
Prayer Box
Teach children to pray for one another's needs. Keep this by the door, and as children enter the classroom let them place their stick in the Prayer Box if they have a prayer requst to share during opening prayer.
Step 1 Find an empty cardboard box that you can use for your prayer box. Also choose some paper to cover it with.
Step 2 Wrap your prayer box like you would a present.
Step 3 Turn your box right side up.
Step 4 Choose some lettering for your box. I used some extras I had from a scrapbooking kit, but you can print your own quite easily.
Step 5 Glue the lettering across your box as shown.
All Done! If desired you can make one section for "New" prayers, and another section for "Answered" prayers so we can praise God during prayer time as well.
Step 6 Write the names of the children in your class on popsicle sticks. Use colored ones if you have them. (See below for optional Name Sticks.)
Step 7 Use a knife or a box cutter to slice holes in the top of the box. Push the sticks in to stretch them to fit.

Optional Variations: Instead of writing children's names directly on the stick, print up written tags, or take their photos and glue them to the top of the stick.
