Part 3 of our Christmas Story Ornaments
covers the birth of Christ in a manger.  Children
make these adorable mangers with soft hay for
the baby Jesus.
Step 1
Cut your brown felt into two triangle
shapes. Glue your Popsicle stick to
one piece as shown.
Step 2
Glue your second Popsicle stick over
the top as shown.
Step 3
Turn it over.
Step 4
Glue your second piece of brown felt
on the back to make a pocket.
Step 5
This is what it will look like when you
stand it up.
Step 6
Take a handful of raffia and glue to
the inside of the pocket.
All Done!
Glue your Christmas verse to the
front of the manger and hang on
your tree or wreath.
Materials
  • 2 Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Brown Felt
  • Pink Felt (Optional)
  • Raffia
  • Glue
Step 7
If you're going to hang you ornament
on a tree, use some of the raffia to
make a small loop.
Step 8
Tuck the loop into the center of the
pocket.
Step 9
Glue down the loop ( I used a glue
gun to keep it secure, but Elmer's will
work if you pinch it firmly.)
Step 10
If you like you can cut a small hand
from pink felt, and glue to the inside of
the pocket.
