Cut out shapes from the Craft Foam to
represent Baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph,
Star, Angels, and a variety of animals.
You can click this image to enlarge it to
see how they were created. Use the
Puffy paint to add dimension to the
characters.
Optional Ideas:
Create 25 different characters and store them in the daily pockets for children to
add to the Nativity Scene above (use Velcro to get it to attach to the felt board)

Symbols of Christmas: It would be fun to put each of these symbols into the
pockets of the calendar and to do the Free Activities listed here.

I haven't decided how we're going to hang this, but I'm thinking with red ribbons
on a simple wooden dowel. I'd love to hear additional ideas for counting down to
Christmas, what do you do with your family.
This is an Advent calendar you can
make with minimal sewing skills or
some hot glue.  Either way you'll
have a fun calendar that your
children will look forward to bringing
out during the holiday season.
We used a foam cross with gold
glitter glue on the sides to use as a
day marker for our calendar.  You
can make your own daily marker or
write a special bible verse on a small
piece of paper for each day of the
month.
